Corybas (pinkish orchid of a thumbnail size)
On 14 September 2025, 12 members
scaled up the Corybas Trail in Cameron Highlands, to the wonderful Mossy
Paradise forest (about 1,900 meter asl.). 5 of the 12 members braved up further
to Gunung Irau (about 2,100 meter asl.).
The eager 12 at the trailhead (5 a.m.)
We were lucky to have climbed this mountain on a relatively clear day (mild shower in the afternoon). We started the hike at 5 a.m. and proceeded in the dark until we reached CP2. After taking a group photo at CP2, the team split up – with the fast hikers moved on quickly in order to reach Mossy Paradise soonest possible.
Entering the forest
Upon reaching
CP4 Mossy Paradise, 5 hikers broke off from the team to scale up Gunung Irau. All
the other 7 hikers spent some time marveling Mossy Paradise before descending back
to the trailhead at Hikers’ Paradise.
7 hikers enchanted by the mossy forest at Mossy Paradise (11a.m.)
5 hikers, even more jubilant at Gunung Irau (2 p.m.)
For the record, the 7 Mossy Paradise hiker concluded their hike between 3-5pm. Due to unanticipated challenges encountered at between CP4 and Gunung Irau, the 5 Irau hikers only reached back at the starting trailhead at 10pm!
The Irau group struggled, struggled!
