About Pathfinders

Location: Gunung Ledang (via Asahan)

The MNS Pathfinders (PF) is a Special Interest Group which comes under the purview of Malaysian Nature Society, Selangor Branch.
Known as one of the more demanding SIGs in terms of physical and mental strengths, we seek pleasure, relaxation, adventures and challenges thru venturing into and being with the forest, hills and mountains, waterfall and streams - away from hectic, urban stress. We pledge on taking nothing but photographs, leaving nothing but footprints and killing nothing but time, all with conservation in mind. Forest bathing is one of the rejuvenating experiences we cherish—it allows us to immerse ourselves in the beauty and tranquility of nature. This cherished connection with the wilderness fuels our passion for exploration while fostering a deep respect for the preservation of these valuable ecosystems.
Our "pathfinders" designation is a testament to our commitment to trailblazing and bushwhacking. We undertake reconnaissance missions and navigational challenges in uncharted territories, pushing beyond our usual scope of activities. Complementing our field experiences, we delve into mapping and GIS work to further enhance our understanding of the landscapes we explore.
In doing anything outdoor, we adopt the 7 principles of Leave No Trace!
Our tagline: Bond with the forest!
Volunteers to lead, coordinate and assist with PF outdoor events are welcome, whether as committee (registered in SIG) or as ad-hoc (trip-based) volunteer. Just drop us a note here at top right, in Telegram or email us!
Join MNS as a member at mns.my and participate in our outdoor (and indoor) activities at a cheaper rate and receive monthly electronic newsletter with updates from all fellow MNS SIGs with their events and cross-events!
