[REPORT] [TOUGH SERIES] PF61u Bukit Madei + 3 Peaks

On 23 August 2026, a group of 9 members hiked up to Bukit Madei and then made a loop back to the trailhead via the Yellow Trail. This was our first Tough Series for this year, not only because we needed to cover longer distance than usual, but also to withstand the merciless solar flaring.

Nevertheless, all the participants were in good spirit. And from the faces of everyone, it was a fun outing, especially with some members whom we have not been meeting for some time.

We started off at 6.45am and managed to get a glimpse of the sunrise at the mountains east of Kuala Lumpur.

We did encounter magnificent huge bamboo forest along the way, crossed one small stream and scaled up the steep slopes during the ascend to Bukit Madei.

We passed the highest point of Bukit Madei (real peak) and regrouped at the second highest point (the false peak) to take our first group Wefie photo.

After a short rest, we proceeded together to the fantastic lookout point further down.

On the return leg, we walked back up to the false peak to take a food break there.

After gaining our strength, we proceeded descending downhill. Most of us visited the 3 other lower peaks along the Yellow Trail and finally, the team took shelter at a café located on a scenic ridge to take a respite from the hot sun. Fresh coconut water was the order of many. But we had to wait long for the vendor to prepare as almost every hiker needed the same drink to cool themselves down.

The hike ended about 12pm back at the trailhead.
